St John Ambulance (Qld) is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and your credit information. You can access our full privacy policy

The services we provide are varied and include event services, social services and training services. This information collection statement relates to our handling of credit information and of personal information generally. Please consult our specific information statements in relation to the appropriate service.

The primary purpose we collect your information is to provide our services. We may also use or disclose the information for other purposes such as processing payments and marketing.

Our usual process of collecting information is to collect the information directly from you. We may also collect information from other sources, such as from third party providers and suppliers, your employers, from government bodies, through referrals, through marketing events or from credit reporting bodies. We will only collect the information from these other sources if it is necessary to provide our services, or you have instructed us to collect your information from those sources.

Your information is usually collected before and during the course of providing the services.

If you do not provide us with the requested information, we may not be able to provide the service or, in relation to volunteers, we will not be able to engage you to assist us in performing services. In some cases it may be possible for you to provide us with some but not other information.

Your information may be disclosed to other entities, such as other providers that assist us in performing our services, the Queensland Ambulance Service, organisers of events, the family members of a patient, employers at worksites where we provide professional services, and medical staff.

We may also disclose your information to overseas entities. We disclose information to an IT consultant located in Canada, under a long-standing relationship. From time to time, we may also disclose information to international St John Ambulance organisations. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas entities use information in a way that is compliant with Australian Privacy Principles and other relevant privacy laws.

If we consider it necessary, we may disclose your credit information to a credit reporting body. The credit reporting body we use is Dun & Bradstreet (Australia) Pty Limited and you can contact it through its website at or contact us for further information.

The credit reporting body may include the information we disclose to it in reports provided to other credit providers to assist those credit providers in assessing your credit worthiness.

If you fail to meet your payment obligations in relation to the credit we provide you or if you commit a serious credit infringement, we may disclose this to the credit reporting body.

You can request that the credit reporting body not use your information for the purposes of pre-screening for direct marketing by another credit provider. You can also request the credit reporting body not use or disclose credit reporting information about you, if you believe on reasonable grounds that you have been, or are likely to be, a victim of fraud.

Our detailed privacy policy includes further information on how you can access and seek correction of your information and how you can complain about a breach of your privacy. The policy also contains information about how we will deal with a complaint.

If you have any concerns about the privacy of your information, please consult our full privacy policy or contact us for a copy. You may also contact our Privacy Officer on 07 3253 0543 or by email at
